Early 20th century. 3-storey, 5-bay with 2 further lower bays, classically-detailed post office. Tooled red ashlar, brick to rear, piended slate roof to front with ridge ventilator. Moulded cill course to ground, 1st and 2nd floors; corniced parapet with balustraded panels; round-headed top-hopper windows to ground floor with acroterion motif to transom at centre and centre right windows, architraved sash and case elsewhere with plate glass to bottom and multi-pane to top, alternate pedimented and segmental panels over 1st floor windows.
FRONT ELEVATIONS: 5 bays to right; 3 windows to centre, 2 keystoned round-headed arched doors blocked as windows at outer bays set within pedimented doorcase with pilaster strips and composite capitals; 5 windows to 1st floor; 7 windows to 2nd floor. 2 bays to left; 2 windows to ground, 1st and 2nd floors.
The heraldic panels in the pediments are inscribed 'ER'; The words 'POST AND TELEGRAPH OFFICE' are inscribed over the ground floor windows.
