Description

Circa 1875. 4-storey Baronial tenement with shops at ground floor, part of terrace. Squared and snecked sandstone with polished ashlar dressings. Coprnice above shops; corbel table at 3rd floor stepped down at centre; corwstepped gables; chamfered reveals.

E (ENTRANCE) ELEVATION: 3 Shopfronts and tenement doorway as originally disposed with cast-iron bolumns and foliate capitals; decorative cast-iron brattishing above cornice. Full-height canted windows to outer left and right, corbelled to square at gablehead with inset paterae; dividing cornices. Single windows in remaining bays; 3rd floor windows breaking eaves in stone finialled round-arched pediments, and flanking central corniced shouldered and moulded wallhead stack with corbel detail. Central square blank tablet above 2nd floor.

4-pane and plate glass sash and case windows. Grey slate roof; lead flashing; rendered mutual stacks; moulded cans; some original rainwater goods; beak skewputts.

INTERIORS: not seen 1990.
