Description

Dated 1895. Flemish renaissance. 3 storeys with attics,
symmetrical angle frontage. Red ashlar, with sculptured
ornament. Ground floor 2 wide shop windows with
original woodwork and centre doorway framed in 4
pilasters with foliated capitals supporting entablature
containing shop fascias. Segmental pediment broken by
central cartouche over doorway. 1st floor arcade of 5
semi-elliptical arches with keyblocks, glazed as triple
light transomed windows. 2nd floor has central corbelled
oriel which rises as 3-tier central turret with consoled
copper cupola. Flanking 2nd floor windows bipartite with
square baluster shafts, sculptured apron frieze. Flemish
gables above with 2-light windows having colonnettes,
scroll supports and low-rise scrolled pediments. Corniced
end stacks; slate roof.
