Sculptured probably at Carrarra, from model executed by
Mrs D O Hill of Edinburgh. Unveiled by Lord Rosebery
6.4.1882. Carrarra marble statue of Robert Burns,
raised on grey ashlar pedestal with triglyph frieze,
marble inscription panels to elevations.

Statement of Interest

Originally enclosed by iron railings. MacDowall states that

"the task of reporducing (the statue from the model) was

entrusted to Italian artists..."
