Late 18th/early 19th century farmhouse, steading
reconstructed in second quarter of 19th century,
incorporating existing buildings. All built of whitewashed
rubble and ashlar dressings, house with contrasting margins;
roofs covered mostly with graded slates.
House: closes steading court at S; 2 storeys, 3 bays, with
central doorway; sash windows; end stacks; central
full-height gabled square bay to courtyard, single storey
lean-to either side.
Steading: ranges built around open court; W range linked to
house; courtyard E range raised to 2 storeys, and L-plan,
with range returning E with 2-bay cartshed facing roadway.
Blank walls of N and W ranges face roadways at road junction.
