Isolation hospital, now house. Dated 1761 with C20 alterations.
MATERIALS: coursed stone, double Roman tile roof.
PLAN: small symmetrical plan, with deep added rear wing to swept-down roof, most of width.
EXTERIOR: two storeys, two windows, pairs of pointed lights to chamfered surrounds and central stone mullion, with plain casement under blank tympana, first floor also has blind central lancet, over small painted tablet, with cornice, inscribed "Rebuilt in the Year of our Lord 1761". Ground floor has paired lancets, and, off-centre left, plank door to four-centred arch to stopped moulded surround, on three steps, and under flat moulded hood carried across as full width moulded drip course. High plinth, to threshold level, coped gables, with stack to right, returns are plain, with one small square light, and deep wing in ashlar carried beyond to right.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
HISTORY: this is a replacement of the original hospital of 1495 attached to St Mary Magdalene (qv). It was originally an isolation hospital for people affected by leprosy and was rebuilt at the instigation of Rev. D Taylor.
