House, now 2 dwellings. Formerly dated 1735 (the datestone now
defaced). Coursed and squared red sandstone with massive angle
quoins and chamfered plinth; stone flagged roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic, 2-window range. Original
doorway to right, the moulded lintel formerly inscribed with
the date now badly worn. Present doorways to centre are
inserted in plain stone architraves, and they cut the
mullioned windows which survive to each side of them, and
which are now 2-light casements (the stone mullions themselves
also removed from the surviving window area). Continuous
drop-ended hoodmould spanning both windows and the inserted
doorways. Upper windows of 5-lights, retaining the chamfered
stone mullions. Attic windows in gable apex. End wall stacks.
INTERIOR: partition walls are timber-framed.
