Terrace of 6 houses, originally built as a group of 12
back-to-back dwellings. Dated 1847. Attributed to James
Greenhalgh. Well coursed and squared stone with slate roof.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys, 6-window range. 4-centred arched doorways
with overlights and drop-ended hoodmoulds. 4-centred chamfered
architraves to 12-pane sash windows, also with drop-ended
hoodmoulds. Some inserted windows over doorways in west
elevation. Arched panels record the name and date of the
terrace, which forms part of a model industrial community
established by the Ainsworth family.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
This item was originally included in the statutory list of 26
April 1974 and was removed in error on 5 December 1975.
