House, now divided into 2. Mid-late C18, altered C19. Red
brick in Flemish bond with painted lower courses to left.
Welsh-slate roof with stone coping, painted moulded eaves
cornice and 2 brick end stacks.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar; 3-window range. Painted sill
bands. Three 3/6 sashes to 2nd floor, two 6/6 sashes on 1st
floor, all having painted channelled voussoirs and keystones.
To right on 1st and ground floor, a 2-storey canted bay-window
with pitched leaded roof and sashes, 2/2 x 3 of plate glass
sashes on first floor, 4/4:6/6:4/4 below. Ground floor has 2nd
canted bay window on left, similarly fenestrated and with
cornice and pitched leaded roof.
Central Classical doorcase (to No.66) has 3/4 Doric columns,
entablature with paterae and open pediment, decorative
fanlight, 6-panel door, iron hand rails, and 4 stone steps of
which 3 are nosed.
Door at left end (to No.68), with slight incursion onto facade
of The Old Malthouse, has fluted round-arched architrave with
paterae and open pediment, decorative fanlight, 6-panel door
and 4 stone steps, 3 nosed. Part-painted part-rendered plinth
with cellar grilles below windows.
Rear wing with brick dentilled eaves.
