House. Approx 1780 with later alterations. Red brick in
Flemish bond. Hipped plain tile roof with 2 central leaded
gullies, painted modillion cornice to front, and stepped
dentilled eaves to sides; brick stacks, one to end of ridge,
one external, and 2 lateral.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar; 3-window range. Painted sill
bands and moulded rendered plinth. On 2nd floor, central 3/6
sash with painted channelled voussoirs and keystone, flanked
by tripartite windows with 2/4:3/6:2/4 sashes and corniced
surrounds. 1st and ground floors have, to outer bays, 2-storey
canted bay-windows with pitched leaded roofs, cornices, and
4/4:6/6:4/4 sashes. On 1st floor, central 6/6 sash with
painted channelled voussoirs and keystone. On ground floor at
centre, curving double flight of 6 moulded stone steps with
iron hand rail up to 6-panel door below Gothick-traceried
fanlight with infilled panelled reveal and Classical
architrave which has 3/4 Doric columns on plinths, entablature
with paterae, and open pediment.
Later brick extension on right. Some lead hoppers and
downpipes.
Rear elevation has 2-storey canted bay-window with 4/4:6/6:4/4
sashes; 2 staggered rectangular staircase windows with margin
lights; and tripartite sashes above.
INTERIOR: 6-panel doors with wide architraves and deep
reveals; in front left room, panels with re-entrant curved
corners, moulded dado rails, triglyph cornice, Adam-style
fireplace with fluted pilasters; in front right room, wooden
panelling with billet moulding; central dog-leg staircase with
wreathed handrail, grooved balusters, and upper floor frieze.
