2 houses. Probably mid C18, refronted early C19. Red and
yellow brick in Flemish bond. Welsh-slate roof with brick
stacks to ridge between houses and to right end.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar. 3-window range of 8/8 sashes
with painted reveals, channelled voussoirs, keystones and
sills on 1st floor; smaller 8/8 sashes with sills above.
Ground floor: at centre, 2 canted bay-windows with pitched
leaded roofs, 4/4:6/6:4/4 sashes, and cellar grilles; to left,
6-panel door below fanlight with radial glazing bars in
round-arched surround with panelled reveal; to right,
basket-arched carriage entrance with double 6-panel door
giving access to rear and to round-arched side-door with
fanlight as at front; rendered plinth.
Side and rear elevations have sash windows, a narrow lancet
window to 1st floor of No.47, and brick dentilled eaves
cornice.
INTERIOR: of No.45 has 6-panel doors, cupboards, and large
Bathstone fireplace with keystone.
HISTORICAL NOTE: there is documentary evidence for the
existence of the 2 houses in 1760.
