House divided into 2. Late C18/early C19 with later
alterations. Red brick in Flemish bond. Welsh-slate
gable-facing 2-span roof concealed by high parapet with 3
rendered blind oculi above painted cornice; 4 brick side and
end stacks; dogtooth eaves to left return.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and cellar; 3-window range. Painted
rusticated quoins and rendered chamfered plinth. On 2nd floor,
segmental-arched 3/3 sashes; on 1st floor, flat-arched 3/9
sash on left and horned 6/6 sash on right; central window on
each floor blocked, and all with painted channelled voussoirs,
keystones, and sills.
Ground floor: on right, 3/9 sash similar to that above; on
left, added canted bay-window with plate glass sashes and
pitched leaded roof; cellar grille below each window; at
centre, paired entrances, to no 56 on right and to no 58 on
left, each having Classical architrave with 3/4 Tuscan columns
on plinths, corniced entablature, fanlight with radial glazing
bars, 6-panel door, and 3 stone steps.
INTERIOR: curved dividing wall. The building formerly housed a
dissenting meeting house.
