Farmhouse now house. Early C17 with earlier wing and later
alterations. Painted timber frame and painted render with
painted rendered plinth. Gabled plain-tile roof hipped to
east. Stone stack with C20 ridge chimney. 3-bay range with
former baffle entrance in right-hand bay and with earlier
2-bay range forming cross wing to right.
EXTERIOR: 2-storey. South front with square framing 5 panels
high with straight tension brace to left. Framing underbuilt
to right with rendered masonry painted in imitation of timber
frame. 3 C20 metal casements with leaded lights with single
earlier casement to centre right.
Left-hand gable end with square framing 5 panels high with
straight tension braces at first floor. Gable-end truss of tie
beam, twin collars and vertical struts. Single 2-light
casement at first-floor level. Twin trenched-purlin roof
evident. Right-hand side: wall frame of the earlier cross wing
bays with square framing 3 panels high.
Rear: 3 bays of main range square-framed with twin straight
tension braces at both storeys in middle bay. 3 casements.
Ground floor covered by C20 lean-to extension. To left is
gable-end of earlier cross wing with square framing, cambered
tie beam, vertical struts and collar. C20 casements at both
floors.
INTERIOR: ground-floor middle bay with twin chamfered bridging
beams with stepped concave chamfer stops. Large ashlar stack
with back-to-back inglenooks and chamfered mantelbeams with
ogee chamfer stops.
