Barn and attached cart shed
opposite Church of St Peter

GV II

Barn with stable and attached cart shed. C18 with C19
alterations and cart shed. Narrow coursed blue lias rubble;
gabled tile roof, half-hipped to one end.
EXTERIOR: approx. 6-bay barn has entrance to left of centre
with low paired doors with strap hinges and weatherboarding
above; pitching hole towards right end. Cart shed to right end
has alternate wide and narrow courses of rubble. Right gable
of barn has square opening for owl hole; gable of cart shed
has shuttered square opening.
Rear has large porch with half-hipped and weatherboarded
gable; stable to left with segmental-headed entrance and 2
segmental-headed windows, pitching hole above; re-entrant
brick catslide outshut.
Cart shed is open fronted, of 6 bays, with timber posts.
INTERIOR: barn has tie beam and collar trusses with wind
braces; shed has C19 king post trusses with raking struts.
Important to the setting of the church.
