Inn, now house. Late C17/early C18 with later alterations
including extensions to either end and to rear. Whitewashed
brick, partly timber-framed; plain-tile roof and brick
projecting end stacks.
EXTERIOR: single-storey with attic, 3-window range. Off-centre
right entrance has a C20 door between 2 early C20 square bay
windows with sashes, all under pentice roof. Further door to
left. C20 bow window to extreme left. Gabled roof. Attic has 3
gabled dormers with 2-light casements.
INTERIOR: chamfered spine beams, that to centre room with ogee
stops. Square-panel framing in partition and original rear
walls, some believed to have wattle and daub panels. Inglenook
fireplaces to end rooms, the hood visible to that in kitchen
(to left), barrel vault to that to right, both with bressumer
beams. Tie-beam truss roof, exposed original rough-hewn
purlins.
