Terraced house. c1825. Designed by Amon Wilds and Charles
Augustin Busby. Stucco. C20 mansard roof of slate.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic over half basement. 3-window
range. Elevation treated as full-height and nearly full-width
segmental bay. To ground floor a tetrastyle portico, segmental
in plan, each Tuscan column having an impost block; this
portico supports a first-floor verandah with cast-iron
railings and stanchions; the section of the metal roof a cyma
recta. Stairs up the centre of ground-floor porch. Entrance to
left part wall is flat arched with overlight; windows to the
right. All windows flat arched with projecting sills. Storey
band between second floor and attic; projecting cornice to
attic; parapet above terminates in piers at the party and end
walls. Return of 4-window range, where there is flat-arched
entrance. To the right of this a second flat-arched entrance
from which rises a nearly full-height canted bay.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
Railing to stairs and enclosing ground-floor porch.
Nos 137-140 Marine Parade and Bristol Court, Nos 141, 142 and
143 Marine Parade (qv) form a group with Eastern Terrace.
