II
Lodge, formerly to Chirton Manor. Early C19. Flemish bond
brickwork, thatched roof. Greek cross plan, with Gothic panelled
doors in south faces of east and west arms, under tiled angled
porch on rustic posts, repeated in each re-entrant angle. Metal
casement windows with turn buckle handles replacing original under
stone label mouldings. Eaves boards with carved arches and corner
pendants. Central flush dormer to each gable, roof hipped, and
thatched elaborated with cusped capping. Central triple round
flues of toothed brickwork with moulded stone caps and bases.
Originally a lodge to Conock Manor (q.v.) driveway.
