House, now offices. C18 rear range, later C19 front range and
alterations for Rothschilds as W entrance block to drive probably by
William Huckvale. Red brick, Portland stone plinth band, scalloped red
tilehanging to 1st floor, half timbered gables with painted roughcast
panels. Steep old red tile roofs and tall red brick pilastered chimneys.
A large 2-storeys, basement, and attics building facing N. 3 windows wide
with recessed narrow doorway up steps to right of middle window. 2-light
casement windows in 3 conjoined gables. Ornate leaded oriel windows to
1st floor each with triangular projecting centre part. Tilehanging
starts below heads of ground floor windows. 3-light transomed casements
with flat hoods on moulded brackets. Patterned glazing bars in all
windows. Rectangular bay with cove and lean-to tiled roof on E and W
ends with triangular oriel over each. Rear in C18 red brick with flush
box sash windows with 6/6 panes and wide glazing bars under segmental
arches. Panelled door with flat hood or shaped brackets. Included for
group value.
