GV II

House. C18 or earlier, extended in C19. Timber frame plastered
with a steep thatched roof. Lower extensions E and W in brick
plastered with steep slate roofs. One and a half storeys old
centre part faces N with 2 gabled dormers with tiled roofs at the
eaves tucked under the thatch. 2 windows below with small panes
and small hoods similar to former doorway now a window. Flat
roofed C20 extension at SW not of special interest. Formerly
external red brick chimney at W end of old house. Main entrance
now at rear in glazed porch. One-storey and attics C19 wings
balanced at each end with gable attic windows, 2-light casements
with small panes. Marked as 'Pest House' on enclosure map c1820
in HRO.
