Church. 1889-90. By Leach. Rock-faced stone with ashlar
dressings, tile roof. Nave, chancel, north transept and
turret. 4-bay nave has sill course and stepped triple
lancets between weathered buttresses; west end has stepped
triple cusped lancets between angle buttresses. South
gabled porch has pointed entrance. Transept has stepped
triple lancets, turret to west is octagonal with pointed
entrance and cusped louvred bell openings, slate spirelet
with iron cross. 3-bay chancel has pairs of lancets with
east triplet. Part of a planned village for Price's Patent
Candle Company, one of the earliest examples of a model
industrial village.
