11/44 Primitive Methodist Chapel
and railings

Former Primitive Methodist Chapel (now used as the Chedworth Silver
Band practice room), dated 1866 on a rectangular datestone over the
entrance porch. Coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed
stone quoins; slate roof. Rectangular plan with the gable end
facing the road. Single-storey. Symmetrical facade with two tall
12-pane fixed casements within round-headed surrounds with
radiating glazing bars at the top. Central double door (up 4 stone
steps) within a C19 gabled timber porch with decorative barge
boarding and double cast iron gates. Fanlights with radiating
glazing bars at the front and sides of the porch. Tall 12-pane
sashes with horns to the right and left-hand returns. Interior not
inspected. Cast iron railing on a low drystone wall across
entrance front with spear-headed uprights and stanchions with
pointed finials. Boot scraper within wall to the right of the
entrance. Interior not inspected.
