Hawks Lane House

II

Detached house. Early C18 with later probably C19 extension.
Limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins; stone slate roof with
ashlar stacks. Rectangular plan (with gable end to road) with
later extension rear left; C20 conservatory to the right gable
end. Two storeys, attic and cellar. Two-windowed facade lit by
double-chamfered stone-mullioned cross windows with relieving
arches; two segmental-headed slate-hung roof dormers just above
the eaves. Central C20 glass door with glazing bars. Single C19
two-light wooden casement to the gable end facing the road.
Extension: 2 and 3-light wooden casements with leaded panes to the
ground floor. C20 slate-hung raking half dormer and a fixed 2-
light casement to the first floor. C20 plank door within a
dressed stone surround lower right. C20 circular window to the
right of the door. Steeply pitched gables with flat coping and
gable-end stacks to the main body. Interior not inspected.
