House, C16, altered in C17 and extended in C20. Timber framed, plastered,
roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays aligned approx. NE-SW, with axial
chimney stack in NE bay and external chimney stack at SW end. Flat-roofed
single-storey extension to NW, and large 2-storey extension to NE, both C20.
Single storey with attics. SE elevation, french window, glazed gabled porch,
3 metal casement windows, all C20. The interior has jowled posts, heavy
studding, 2 plain-chamfered axial beams. In the SW bay the joists are of
horizontal section, original. In the middle bay the joists are of large
vertical section on pegged clamps, an inserted floor of the C17. Edge-halved
and bridled scarf in SE wallplate. Tiebeam between SW and middle bay severed
for doorway. Late C16 chimney stack, brickwork partly renewed at ground floor.
Roof fully plastered internally.
