of Old Hall Farm

Farm complex, early C19. Barn has lower walls of flint rubble and red brick,
upper walls weatherboarded; other buildings of flint rubble and red brick.
Slate roofs, with some red clay pantiles and corrugated iron. Barn of 10 bays
aligned NE-SW with 2 midstreys to NW, and 3 wings to the SE, forming an E-plan.
Other buildings form the rest of an open square with entrances to NE and SW.
The central wing of the E is a double-sided shelter shed with spine wall. Other
buildings comprise stables, dairy, granary, pighouses, etc. The eastern
building (with a pantiled roof) has been converted to a-garage. All roofs are
hipped and of low pitch. The barn has bolted knees at the junctions of posts
and principal rafters, and half-height collars.
