steps at south-west
corner of churchyard.

Pair of gates, gatepiers and steps, the gates made for Oulton Park,
probably 1720's (at the time of Vanbrugh's work there), and moved to
Malpas churchyard 1773; the piers and steps probably 1773. Gates and
overthrow of wrought iron, piers and steps of red sandstone.
Arrowhead dogbars; floral motif between each pair of vertical rails in
lockrail; leafy scrollwork in central panels of gates and in
overthrow, with Egerton crest. Pair of masonry gatepiers, with a tall
recessed panel on each side, have projecting plinths, moulded cornices
and ornate urn finials. One of 2 pairs of Oulton Park gates. See also
item 34. In design and execution the gates and overthrow are
