Former farmhouse. Circa late C16 origins, remodelled and extended in the circa late C18, rear addition of the 1960s. Colourwashed rendered cob and stone rubble; main block with thatched roof, gabled at left end, hipped at right end rear wing slated; end stacks, projecting rear lateral stack to main range, stack to rear wing at junction with main range.

Plan: Present plan L shaped. The main block, facing the road is, in origin, a three room and through passage plan, lower end to the right. In the circa late C18 a stair was inserted into the passage and a rear right kitchen added at right angles to the lower end which was presumably upgraded to a principal room. The house has been further extended to the rear by a one room plan addition, adjoining the kitchen, possibly converting an existing farmbuilding, and the wing concludes with a 1960s crosswing. The partition between inner room and hall no longer exists.

Exterior: two storeys. Asymmetrical four-window front with regular fenestration; half-glazed two-leaf front door to right of centre with a flat porch canopy on brackets. two-leaf C19 glazed French windows, one on either side of the front door; C19 two-light small pane casement to left. The outer first floor windows are C20 16-pane sashes, with centre windows C19 or C20 two-light casements with glazing bars. The right return of the house has a doorway into the kitchen and a variety of C19 and C20 windows with glazing bars.

Interior: The left hand room (formerly the hall and inner room) has deeply-chamfered cross beams, one with a step stop showing. The right hand (lower end) room has a plastered over crossbeam. Circa late C18 stick baluster stair in the former passage; several late C18 two-panel doors on the ground and first floor. The former kitchen, to the rear, has a chamfered cross beam and blocked fireplace with a bread oven.

Roof: Apex not inspected but the principals visible upstairs are of two dates, the earliest are straight and may be C18; those over the left hand end of the house are probably C20.
