Threshing barn immediately east of Ford Barton

Threshing barn. Late C19. Stone rubble with slate roof, gabled at ends. Large threshing barn, rectangular on plan with two pairs of opposed double threshing doors and a horse engine house on the west side in the centre.
Exterior: The east elevation has two massive threshing doorways with segmental arches and stone cheeks; loft loading door in the centre. The west elevation has a similar pair of threshing doors, one in either side of a horse engine house with a polygonal end. The horse engine house has been partly re-roofed in corrugated iron. Slit windows in gable ends.
Interior: Conventional C19 king post, tie beam and strut roof trusses. The threshing barn is part of the planned farmyard at Ford Barton and has group value with the other farm buildings and Ford House and Barton House.
