Estate. cottages, 1849. Sandstone rubble with slate roof. Built in C17th
vernacular style, with a central block and 2 cross-wings. 2 storeys. Windows
have mullions; some are chamfered, some rebated and chamfered. All appear to
be re-used. Each cross-wing has a 3-light ground-floor window and a 2-light
1st floor window. The main block has a bay to each side of the single-storey
gabled porch. The left-hand bay has one-light windows, the right-hand bay
ones of 2 lights. Above the porch door, which has a chamfered surround with
triangular head, is a plaque inscribed 'JEM 1849'. Ch-imneys at outer sides of
main block.
