Bridge. Mid-late C19. Gritstone. Single arch with radiating voussoirs to
band at road level and projecting parapet coping; the parapets terminate in
domed bollards. Hubberholme bridge was until the C19 an important crossing
of the Wharfe for the main routeway between Lancaster and Newcastle on
Tyne. It was repaired in 1639 and rebuilt in 1734 and its present size
reflects the traffic using it in the C19. Included for group value.
