SD 97 NW BUCKDEN HUBBERHOLME

6/40 Sundial approximately
5 metres south of the
chancel of the church
of St. Michael

GV II

Sundial shaft. Probably C17, gnomon dated 1910. Restored C20. Gritstone,
approximately 1.2 metres high. Circular base on plinth; octagonal shaft of
3 blocks, the upper block splayed and with projecting band. The top slab
has incised Roman numerals and lines. Gnomon incised "HUBBERHOLME CHURCH
MCMX" A plaque fastened to the base of the shaft records that the dial was
restored by the Langstroths of USA.
