GV II

House, once a public house. Late C18, with late C19 alterations at the rear.
Brick and tile. Front (south) of 2 storeys, 3 windows. Hipped roof, with brick
dentil eaves. The walls are of Flemish bond for the most part, with some lower
panels of flint, plinth, all painted; the west wall is divided by horizontal flint
panels, with brick quoins, 3 equally-spaced verticals, and plinth; further to the
rear an older smaller block (at a slight angle) has been reconstructed in the
mid C19 of flint and brick, but retains a vertical oak beam (a fragment from an
older building). Casements, on the ground-floor these are in groups of 5 in
rounded bays, with hipped tile roofs. The boarded door in a plain frame is set
within a splayed wood porch (c. 1900) with side windows, open front, and hipped
