Row of 3 cottages. Early C20. Timber-frame, brick, and tile. An exaggerated
'Tudor' front (north) with irregular plan and elevation, mostly .2 storeys but
with parts of 1 storey and attic: there are 5 gables of different size, the
smaller 2 to the west side set back (on different faces) and separated from
the main group, the other 3 close together but separate (the middle smaller).
There are massive stacks irregularly placed, one with tapered sides set in front
of a gable. The upper walls have exposed framing with curved braces and brick
infill, but everything is varied: the centre group (of gabled fronts) being
jettied: the ground-floor is of brickwork. The east side is set back with a
small gabled dormer. Casements with leaded lights, oriels on brackets in 2
of the middle gables. 2 plain boarded doors are coupled within a wide wood-
framed porchway beneath a Tudor arch, the other door (to Chimney Cottage) being
in a projected porch. At the rear, despite a set back at the west and a pro-
jection at the east sides, there is a plain 2-storeyed elevation of brick and
tile with a fairly regular arrangement of casement windows.
