House, now village shop and Post Office. Late C18 with mid-C19 and mid-C20
alterations. Brick with alternating patterns of headers and stretchers;
plain tiled roof with ridge stack at right end. Three storeys and cellar
with modillion eaves cornice. Three bays; canted two-storey bay windows
with moulded cornices added to outer bays probably in early C20; right
ground floor window has C20 plain replacement glazing; from the ground floor
of the left bay projects a C19 shop front since altered and re-glazed in C20;
second floor of outer bays has tripartite sash windows, the right one having
a central 6-pane sash and left one now having plain glazing. Central first
floor blind round-headed window and central second floor blind lunette;
central entrance has a moulded cornice, a moulded eared and shouldered archi-
trave and a door with six raised and fielded panels approached by four sand-
stone steps. Interior: ground floor now altered to accommodate shop and
Post Office.
