Shown on OS map as The Manse.
House, north-west wing of C16 house, now The Priory, Hamp
Green Rise (qv). c1840. Painted roughcast with rusticated
stone quoins and dressings, slate roof, rendered stacks with 2
octagonal reconstructed stone shafts with moulded cornices and
plinths to gable ends and 5 shafts to rear right party wall.
Single-depth plan. Domestic Tudor Revival style. 2 storeys;
symmetrical 3-window range. A 2-storey flat-roofed rectangular
stone bay window has full-height Ham Hill stone triangular
projection to centre. It is flanked by high parapet walls with
moulded coping and string course below, each gabled at centre
with shield in recessed square panel, castellated to the
sides; chamfered architraves to 4-light casement windows, each
leaf with 4 panes, those to ground floor are French windows
with overlights. The gabled right return has similar 3-light
windows. INTERIOR: once a reception wing added to The Priory
to the rear, the 2 large rooms to the ground floor have been
sub-divided. The moulded cornice, some high skirting boards
and 6-panel doors, 2 rows of 3 vertical panels, remain.
