Old Toll House
II
Toll House. Early/mid C19. Painted brick with irregular hipped
zig-zag pantile roof to main block, slate to the bays, brick
stack to rear left. Double-depth plan with 2-storey bays to
left and right returns. 2 storeys; 3-window range. The centre
of the central block is stepped forward with a canted oriel to
the first floor which has a hipped roof and C20 two-light
semicircular arched casement windows to the front; it is coved
out over a moulded architrave and a C20 door which has narrow
windows to the returns of the bay, each with a half dripmould.
The bay to the left is semicircular, that to the right is
triangular, each with 3 windows under label moulds, 2-light
casements to the centre flanked by single-light casements.
