House. Early C18 with possible C17 remains. Red sandstone ashlar with
hipped slate roof. Two storeys with attic, five bays. Two storey bands.
Windows have keystones and are sashed, with glazing bars on the first
floor and no glazing bars on the ground floor. Three gabled attic dormers.
The two cellar windows are mullioned, of two lights with rebated and
chamfered surrounds. The doorway, approached by external stone steps,
has a timber architrave and bracketted hood. Chimneys, on end walls, have
truncated caps. The left-hand one has a projecting stack. A rear wing
contains a 4-light mullioned window. Interior: dog-leg stair in hardwood
has closed string and turned balusters of C18 type. Left-hand room lined
with raised and fielded softwood panelling with dado and block cornice.
In the rear wing are two exposed chamfered ceiling beams with stepped stops.
