Description

LINTON CP B 4221

3/40 Two Park Farmhouse

25.2.66

GV II

House. Possibly c1600 and early C18. Timber-framing and painted rubble
with roofs of stone slate and tile. L-plan. Earlier wing, facing north-
west, of one storey with attic and framed in three rows of square panels.
Left-hand end appears to be an addition. Three casement windows on ground
floor and one gabled attic dormer above. Door at right under C20 gabled
brick porch. Framing suggests that the original doorway was between the
second and third windows. Chimney stack projects from right-hand gable.
Attached at the right is a two-storey rear wing of stone. It is of two
bays and the windows have casements except for the right-hand one on the
ground floor which is sashed with glazing bars. The door, between bays,
has a tiled canopy. Chimney on front wall at left. Interior: not fully
accessible, but timber-framed wing appears to have common ceiling joists
which span from front to back. Additional strengthening joists have been
tusk-tenoned through the principal posts.
