Formerly known as: Crossing Keeper's House HARMIRE ROAD.
Railway junction keeper's house, now office. c1865. For
Stockton and Darlington Railway Company. Snecked stone with
ashlar quoins and dressings; Welsh slate roof with stone
chimney. One low storey; 2-window range. L-plan.
Central renewed 6-panel door and small overlight in alternate
block jambs under flat stone lintel with wood-bracketed
sloping stone hood. Flanking paired renewed 4-pane sashes have
similar jambs and lintels and projecting stone sills.
Low-pitched roof has right end gable coping with block
kneelers, and small square right end chimney with top band.
Left gable built over by adjacent house. Square railway
company plaque at right has painted low relief shield with
letters `F 10', and `S & DRC' flanking foot of shield. Right
return has blocked door. Rear wing gabled with chimney. C20
flat-roofed rear extension. INTERIOR: not inspected.
