Former Methodist chapel, now printing works. Dated 1836, with
C20 alterations. Brick with stone dressings and Welsh slate
roof. Classical style. 2 storeys, the 5-window range to Park
Street frontage flanked by lower blocks each side, and with
central 3 bays advanced. Outer blocks house entrances with
Doric cases to paired doors with Greek key incised moulding
and overlights. Round-arched windows with stone heads and
interlaced glazing above. Central section of 5 bays (1-3-1)
has 24-pane fixed lights with flat-arched gauged brick heads,
and interlaced glazing in upper round-arched windows. Stone
string course in 3 advanced central bays, and continuous sill
band to central upper windows. Stone entablature with
lettering, 'Methodist New Connection, 1836' in centre. Shallow
pediment over High Street return, then 4-window range, the
windows set in full-height recessed panels, with doorway to
left, and projecting lower 2-storey block beyond.
