Group of 3 houses. 1908. By Percy Houfton for the Brodsworth Colliery
Company. Red brick to ground floor (now mostly rendered), roughcast above;
later cement-tile roof. 2 storeys, 1 : 1 : 2 : 1 : 1 windows to 1st floor;
near-symmetrical composition. Wooden casements with glazing bars throughout.
No. 51 (to centre) has boarded door beneath canopy on curved brackets with
windows of 4 lights on left and 3 lights on right; continuous tile
dripcourse; two 4-light windows to lst floor with tiie dripcourse beneath
gable with lozenge motif. No. 53 (on left): similar doorway on left of a
canted 2-storey bay with windows of 2 : 2 : 2 lights and vertical studding
between floors; to left of door a 3-light window beneath 4-light window. No.
49 (on right): as No 53 but handed. Swept eaves. Dentilled brick end
stacks corbelled from the gables (that to right altered); 2 matching ridge
stacks. Part of Woodlands colliery village (see under Church of All Saints,
Central Avenue).
