House in row, with shop. C17, with late C18 or early C19
front. Timber-frame with brick infill, painted brickwork
front, tile roof, brick stacks. The front block, with parapet
to range parallel to street, is carried across Yarnell's Alley
to the right, and has a long back wing; the principal stack is
at the rear of the front block.
3 storeys and basement, 2-windowed. Two 12-paned sashes at
second floor above large 16-pane central sashes at first and
ground floors, these to wide V-joint voussoirs, and all in
exposed moulded boxes. To the left is a glazed C20 door, and
to the right an arched opening to the alley. In the alley, to
the right, are 3 posts on stone bases, and carrying a heavy
plate, in front of a square panel framed wall. To the left is
an entrance door to a cambered head.
The long wing is in 2 storeys with attic, and has a very
steep-pitched roof; the end gable is in brick, but the flank
wall has square panel framing with brick infill to the ground
floor and plaster panels above. At first floor is one casement
at the eaves, and 3 varied casements below. Stack in C17 brick
at the inner gable end, to the rear of the front block.
INTERIOR not generally inspected. At the rear of the shop is a
deep chamfered/stopped beam; the cellar has been filled.
