House at end of row, with shop. C17 structure with early C19
front. Rendered street front, remainder brick, tile roofs,
brick stack. A high parapeted facade conceals a steep roof to
the main right-angle plan building, which has a rendered rear
gable, probably on timber-framing, and a large stack; beyond
this is a second gabled unit in-line.
3 storeys, 1-windowed. 16-pane sashes to stone cills, and an
early C19 bowed pilaster shop front in 3 panes, with moulded
glazing bars under a fascia and dentil cornice continued over
a part-glazed C19 door to the right. Lofty coped parapet. The
return wall, to the left, facing the courtyard to Watson Hall
(qv), is in 2 sections; the first in plain brick, then, with a
lower eaves-line to a steep roof, a 2-storey section with a
6-pane and a 4-pane sash at each level, and a blocked central
doorway.
INTERIOR: shop retains a large beam with mortices to a former
partition, and has a blocked fireplace.
