GV II

Schoolroom next to Church of St George (qv). c1860. Killas
rubble with granite dressings. Steep dry Delabole slate roof,
granite stack over gable, larger stone stack near south gable,
cast-iron ogee gutter. Rectangular plan. Tudor Revival style.
North gable end has central 5-light mullioned window with
relieving arch over. C20 wing to right. One-window west range
has C20 wing on left, central 3-light window and blocked
chamfered doorway on the right. One-window east range has
3-light wooden transomed mullioned window towards left and
lean-to porch at far left with pair of V-jointed boarded doors
on its right. Roof sweeps lower to right of window to meet
flat-roofed wing in front with central flat-headed chamfered
doorway; 2-light window to right-hand return. INTERIOR:
original corbelled granite fireplace in north-east corner and
wall posts on corbels to roof structure otherwise hidden by
C20 ceiling. Included for group value.
