Terrace of 7 town houses. Dated 1848 at 1st floor; Nos 23 to
27 recently remodelled and the facade restored. Red brick in
Flemish bond, with sandstone dressings and slate roof.
Double-depth plan, each house single-fronted, with back
extensions (all rebuilt). Two storeys over cellars, a
14-window facade, with string-course over 1st floor, plain
frieze and moulded cornice. The doorways, to the right and up
2 steps, have Tuscan doorcases; the windows all have raised
sills and wedge lintels, those at No.22 sashed without glazing
bars, and all the others with restored 12-pane unhorned
sashes. Stone plaque, interrupting the string course over the
1st floor at No.25, inscribed "CUERDEN PLACE 1848". Forms
group with row of various earlier houses on opposite side of
street (Nos.1 to 21, variously, q.v.).
