House. Probably early C17 or possibly earlier. Roughcast timber-
frame underbuilt on ground floor in painted brick. Plain tile
roof with gabled east and hipped west end; brick lateral stack
on north side. 2-room plan, the larger east room is heated from
a lateral stack on the north side; the small west room is
unheated and has a doorway in the west end. 2 storeys. The west
end has 2-light casement on each floor, that on first floor with
circa C18 frame, the ground floor C20. Doorway on right with
plank door. C20 2-light casement on first floor of east gable end
and one casement on south side on ground floor to right.
Interior: Small unheated west room has roughly chamfered axial
beam and later partition forming porch and lavatory. the larger
east room has chamfered axial beam with cyma stops at one end and
blocked fireplace with timber lintel. Winder stairs in corner of
larger room. the 2 Chamfers are ceiled but have exposed roof
timbers and wall framing. Central truss in partition has curved
braces to tie-beam, queen-posts and collar with clasped purlins;
curved wind braces; jowled posts and tension braces. Small west
chamber has curved braces to collar. Plank doors.
