House, formerly the Old George Inn. Cl7, C18 and C19. Timber framed
structure, fairly substantial to earlier part. Colourwashed render to most
parts. Clay tile roofs. Original block to SE, with lower C19 block to SW
forming L-plan. C18 block projects from W side of earlier block. Mostly 2
storeys. SE elevation: ground and first floors each have 2 C19 sash windows,
the first floor ones rising above eaves level. 6-panel door under flat hood
on cut brackets. This is in line with red brick ridge stack serving back-to-
back hearth, forming lobby entrance. SW elevation: first floor is tile-hung,
with bands of fishscale tiles. Ground floor has 2 canted bays and one sash
window to LH. First floor has 3 similar sash windows. Part-glazed door
between 2 canted bays. One red brick ridge stack. External brick stack to RH
end.
