Lodge. c.1878. Architect C F Hayward for Railway millionaire H A Brassey.
Rough-faced rubble, concrete tile roofs, coped verges with ball finials, kneelers
and corbels. Large ashlar off-ridge stack. Asymmetrical plan, fanciful Jacobean
style. 1½ storeys. 2 bays to south-east, to left a projecting lower angled
turret with hipped roof, linked by ground floor lobby to arched diagonally set
entrance on corner, Brassey motto over. Return to drive has triangular plan bay
window below and shallow rectangular plan bay over of 3 lights (centre blind for
finial of ground floor bay). Casement windows.
