GV II
House, c1840-50, ashlar with slate roof coped gables, ridge stack
and end stacks. Two storeys and attic, 3-window range of 16-pane
sashes with 6-panel door and overlight in projecting heavy Roman
Doric porch. Raised angle strips, plinth, band and eaves band.
End wall to road has similar raised strips and bands and 16-pane
sashes. Rear is red brick. House deeds suggest that house was
built c1830, an unfinished house is mentioned in 1825 and one 'new
built' in the will of A. Wragg I in 1835, but stylistically looks
later.
