GV II

Pair of houses, internally now one suite of offices. Early
C19. Colourwashed brick. Roof of C20 pantiles. 3 storeys and
dormer attic. 2-window range. 2 full-height canted bay windows
right and left of paired central doors. The bays have C20
sashes without glazing bars. The doors are both 6-panelled
under plain overlights and have a plain curved porch on a pair
of slender columns. Above the porch were 2 casements, that to
left (No.7) blocked. Modillion cornice below Mansard roof,
this roof-type an addition of 1850s. Two C20 dormers. 2
rebuilt stacks on rear roof slope. 3-storey rear extension
fitted with sashes without glazing bars.
INTERIOR: 2 stick baluster staircases with ramped and wreathed
handrails arranged back-to-back, that to No.8 having a lower
flight renewed March 1992. Minor plaster ceiling to
first-floor room of No.7. Cellar of No.8 with a wide
fireplace.
