House, now in commercial use. Mid C19. Limestone ashlar,
hipped slate roof, no stacks. Double-depth plan.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys; 5-window range, 3 bays. Segmental arches
with keystones to plate-glass windows with a sill band to the
1st floor, paired to the outer bays. Canted bays to the ground
floor have hipped slate roofs and chamfered architraves to the
windows; steps up to a C20 door under a segmental arch with a
keystone and a hood on brackets.
INTERIOR: not inspected.
SUBSIDIARY FEATURES: a low coped ashlar wall with short
pyramidal-capped piers enclose the front garden.
One of a group of houses built in New Road after the coming of
the railway in 1840-41.
